The newest Zelda game in the series was released just over a week ago. There’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said somewhere else about it. It continues the same formula as the previous one while making improvements to it. I’m probably only about halfway through the game, but it’s probably safe to say it will have its place up there with the best games of all time.
One of the interesting things about it is that this blockbuster game is only targeting the switch, which is basically nine-year-old phone hardware. It’s pretty amazing they are able to bring such a modern game experience to such old hardware. On the other hand, you could also claim that it’s simpler to target a single piece of hardware when modern PC games have to target different hardware and software platforms.
I was hoping the kids could play it more when I’m done, but there is still a lot of reading they’d have to do to understand where they are supposed to go. Unfortunately a lot of the dialog is still not voiced, which makes it more difficult for them because they can’t read yet.
